1. Purpose
To uphold the integrity, professionalism, and trust of the Leader Joe 1808 Foundation (“the Foundation”) in all its operations, programs, partnerships, and fundraising activities.
2. Core Values
Based on the Foundation’s mission — promoting health, community engagement, education, and inclusion (especially for autism and out-of-school children).
All staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to act in alignment with these principles:
- Respect & Inclusion — Treat all individuals with dignity; be inclusive of persons with autism and other marginalized or vulnerable groups.
- Integrity — Act honestly, transparently, and ethically.
- Accountability — Take responsibility for your actions; report misconduct.
- Stewardship — Use resources responsibly to maximize impact (e.g., funds raised via golf tournaments, community projects).
- Collaboration — Work respectfully with partners, donors, beneficiaries, and communities.
- Professionalism — Maintain high standards in interactions, communications, and implementation of programs.
3. Expected Behaviors
- Respectful Communication: Use polite, non-discriminatory, and inclusive language.
- Conflict of Interest: Declare any potential conflict (personal, financial) that might influence decision-making.
- Confidentiality: Protect sensitive information about beneficiaries, donors, staff, and volunteers.
- Responsible Fundraising: Raise funds with honesty; do not mislead donors about how their contributions will be used.
- Health & Safety: Promote safe environments in all in-person events (e.g., community engagement, tournaments).
- Non-Exploitation: Do not exploit relationships (especially with vulnerable populations) for personal gain.
4. Reporting & Enforcement
- If you witness or suspect a violation of the Code of Conduct, you should report it to your manager, the Board, or a designated ethics contact.
- Reports will be treated seriously, confidentially, and without retaliation.
- Violation may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination (for staff) or removal (for volunteers/partners).
